Villa Scalere
A historic villa in the hills around Florence, restored and reimagined by the architecture studio Bottega 17 — we visualised the project across every floor, from the cellar to the attic. On the ground floor, frescoed salons, a vaulted dining room and a study under a ribbed ceiling sit on original terracotta floors, alongside a contemporary kitchen and an indoor pool that opens onto the Tuscan hills. Below, a vaulted wine cellar and a circular courtyard with a sculptural spiral staircase; above, a quiet master bedroom and a gym under the timber roof. Each space balances the memory of the villa with a calm, contemporary language of stone, bronze, velvet and warm wood, in the soft light of the Florentine countryside.
