A residential tower in Shëngjin, on the Albanian coast, designed by NUAH Architects — we followed the project through its design development with CGI images and a film. The images compare two directions for the same building. In the first, a white perforated skin wraps the tower like lace, with pivoting screens and slender cypresses climbing the corners; in the second, a deep bordeaux façade of vertical fins and rounded balconies opens into hanging gardens, with patterned copper soffits at every step of the volume. Shot from the street in the low Mediterranean light, the views show how material, colour and greenery change the character of the tower while its silhouette stays the same.
