NUAH The Gate
A new tower in Tirana, Albania, designed by NUAH Architects — we visualised the project through a series of CGI images, from the city skyline down to the scale of the street. Two volumes in deep red, textured concrete — a slender tower and a lower block — are cut by a monumental opening that gives the project its name: a gate through the building that frames the sky and leads into a landscaped courtyard of red terraces and stairs, with palms, olive trees, cypresses and hanging greenery. Low-angle views against a cloudless sky follow the rhythm of the vertical fins and recessed balconies, while the wide shot from the water's edge shows the building as a landmark rising above the trees.
